January 15th - Congaree Riverkeeper MLK Day of Service Cleanup

Join us for "a day on, not a day off" this MLK Day as we clean up Smith Branch, a tributary to the Broad River! In 1994, Congress passed the King Holiday and Service Act, designating the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Holiday as a national day of service. We'll be honoring Dr. King's legacy through environmental volunteering for our Midlands community.

“It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one destiny, affects all indirectly.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Why: MLK Day of Service
When: January 15th; 10AM-1PM
Where: Meet at Earlewood Park at the creek by the dog park. We'll have a table set up, so you won't miss us.
What to bring: Just yourself! We'll have bottled water, waders, gloves, and trash grabbers. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
