Congaree Coal Tar Update

There has been some significant progress on the effort to clean up the coal tar in the Congaree River over the last few months. On September 19th, Dominion Energy submitted a permit application to the US Army Corps of Engineers for the proposed coffer dams. You can view a copy of the Corps permit application here.
DHEC will host a virtual public meeting on November 17th to provide updates on the latest version of the cleanup plan, answer questions, and solicit feedback from the public. The agency will be accepting public comments through January 18th, 2021.
