Westinghouse EIS Process Begins

On July 31st the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission announced in the Federal Register their intent to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Westinghouse Fuel Fabrication Facility in Richland County.
This announcement officially begins the EIS scoping process. Scoping is how the NRC will decide what issues will be reviewed in the preperation of the EIS. The public can submit comments on the scoping process through August 31st.
